TB Testing Requirements
To ensure accurate results, patients must return between 48 and 72 hours after their initial injection to have the test "read" by a nurse.
  • Two-Step Testing: If you require a two-step TB test, the second injection must be administered at least one week after the first test is completed.
TB Testing Fees:
    • 1-Step Test: $25
    • 2-Step Test: $40

Insurance and Payment Options
The Adams County Health Department is committed to providing affordable healthcare to all members of the community through the following payment and assistance programs:
  • Private Insurance: Most private insurance plans are accepted. Patients are encouraged to contact their provider prior to their visit to confirm specific coverage details.
  • Vaccines for Children (VFC): This federally funded program provides vaccines at no cost to eligible youth through age 18.
  • Section 317 Program: Federally funded vaccines are available for uninsured or underinsured adults who meet specific eligibility requirements.
  • Self-Pay: For those without insurance, the Health Department provides "patient-minded" cash pricing for all services to ensure care remains accessible to everyone.

Organizations and individuals interested in hosting the Adams County Health Department for on-site vaccinations or educational sessions are encouraged to coordinate a visit. This service is available for schools, community events, long-term care facilities, and homebound residents.
